Anamosa Baseball
They may never have won a World Series (or a Spelling Bee, for that matter), but here is the Anamosa Baseball "Teem" from about 1910. Ellen Teschler has sent this photo. Her grandfather, James Leroy Armstrong, is second from the right in the first row. (The one with the X.) Can you identify any of the other team members? Click on the picture for a larger version.
 Donna Merrick and Carol Smith Terrell write that Carol's father, Clyde Benjamin Smith, is in the back row, 2nd from the right. Carol is his youngest daughter and says, "I know his brother, Clarence, was a good ball player, too, but I don't recognize him in that picture."
