Lemian Palmer
Born April 21, 1839
LEMIAN PALMER, of the firm of Palmer & Paine, dealers in hardware and house-furnishing goods, Monticello; is a native of Canaan, Litchfield Co., Conn., and was born December 8, 1816; when 11 years of age his parents removed to Trumbull Co., Ohio. he grew up and lived there until 1862, when he came to Iowa and located in Jones Co., and engaged in farming and dairying for four years; then engaged in business in Anamosa for three years, when he came to Monticello, and since then he has been successfully engaged in business here and has built up a large trade. Mr. Palmer has held the offices of County Supervisor, City Treasurer and City Alderman. Mr. Palmer married Miss Priscilla Faunce, from North Carver, Mass.
