David Kelly
Born February 19, 1845
DAVID H. KELLY, barber, Anamosa; was born in Linn Co., Iowa, February 19, 1845; when 10 years of age, he came to Jones Co.; he grew up and received his education here. He was in the army-enlisted and served in Co. L, 7th I.V.C., under Gen. Sully. In 1866, he engaged in his present business; he had nothing when he commenced; by industry and attention to his business, he now owns the building he occupies; also owns a good home. He married Miss Emma Day, from Mount Vernon, Linn Co., Iowa, October 3, 1870; they have two children—Eva and Jessie. Mr. Kelly's father, Samuel Kelly, came to Iowa in 1838, and was one of the earliest settlers; he died April 30, 1879; his widow is still living.
