Born 1832
GEORGE HAUN, farmer, Oxford Twp., Sec. 22; P.O. Oxford Junction; was born in Mercer Co., Penn., in 1832; came to Iowa in 1856, settled in Jackson Co. until 1869, when he moved to Jones Co., on the present place, and made all the improvements. His wife, Elizabeth Paup, was born in Mercer Co., Penn., in 1837; came to Iowa in 1851, and was married in 1862, at Maquoketa, Jackson Co.; they have two children—Carrie and Daniel, Mr. H. has been School Director three years. He enlisted in the 2d I.V.C. in 1861, and was mustered out in 1863, at Davenport, Iowa; he was in the battles of Corinth, Iuka, and all of the engagements in Northern Mississippi.
